Katie Whittaker

Singer/songwriter  Katie Whittaker has made a name for herself over the past 10+ years as one of Perthshire’s most talented and versatile vocalists. Her passion for singing knows no bounds and her willingness to put herself out there has led to performances in theatres, festivals, bars and clubs alike. Having sung in musicals, traditional, soul and pop shows, Katie’s true love lies in country and americana music, her country tones are among the best female country voices in Scotland, evident in her appearances on Red Pine Timber Co’s “Different Lonesome” and “Sorry for the Good Times” albums.

In 2016 Katie released her debut solo single “Welcome to Life” in aid of Refugee Councils,  this song led to a spot on main stage “Left Field” at Glastonbury 2016, Katie wrote 5 new songs which were debuted at Big Bill’s Radical Round Up alongside other prolific Left Field singer/songwriters including Billy Bragg and Grace Petrie.

Katie released lockdown single “Pick Me Up (2020)” produced by Stuart Nisbet (The Proclaimers, Justin Curry, China Crisis etc), an upbeat country-tinged song reminiscent of early 2000s feel good country. Promoted and launched through Horsecross, Perth's "Keep Going Together" blog.

Like all musicians in 2020 Katie had to wait a couple more years to get her new music back out on the stage but Katie is back on track having successfully showcased her new band and material, supporting acts such as Elles Bailey and Blue Rose Code on their Scottish tour dates at King Tuts, Glasgow, Perth Theatre and at festivals including Mull Music Festival, Southern Fried Festival and Craigie Hill Fest, solidifying her spot in the local Americana songwriter scene.

With her debut album coming early 2023 Katie is hoping to play more festivals and support more amazing artists on the road with her stories and songs.
